Everyone stands alone at the heart of the world
pierced by a ray of sunlight,
and suddenly it is evening.

:)
I had a busy day yesterday and was off the computer all-together, today I will try to catch up with blogs and chores.
Wishing you a wonderful Friday.
Ylee, love the monuments photo. It is a bit of home for me and I love the scene.
Happy Friday everyone.
I see you have sunny skies this morning - I'm hoping we will too, but it's not so likely. We got surprised with rain yesterday afternoon. The "scattered showers" that were predicted turned into about 1-3" over a fairly wide area. It was good to see more rain, but there went the afternoon's varnish work!
I finally gave up about 2:30 and came home. I could have spent time catching up with everyone on WU, of course, but no - I took a nap. It really was wonderful. There was thunder and lightning and pouring down rain - good sleeping weather, in short. After my hour's nap, I had some of my wonderful new cold-brewed coffee (recipe at Sandi's) and worked on the taxes. Almost done!
Other than that, no news here. It's entirely too warm - in fact they're saying heat indices in the 90s for the rest of the week and weekend. I'm not ready for that at the end of March. Still, there's nothing to do but cope. The people who are suffering are the ones getting the freezing temps with their orchards in full bloom. I can't quite get over that. I know it happens, but it's still sad to see a whole crop gone. I hope it turns out to be not so bad as they're saying.
I'm still waiting for my little cottage painting to show up. Just because someone says they're "mailing something", of course, it's hard to know when it actually will happen. And it's very poor form to nag someone who's sending a gift! ;)
Have a good day - if it's really pretty, put those chores on hold and get outside with your camera. Those of us who are flowerless love your photos - even if we are just a teeny-tiny bit jealous!
Sorry about the work not done, but fantastic that you got a probably more than needed nap. By coincidence earlier this morning I was thinking about a blog on the benefits of naps. It's on my list of future blogs, all I need is time and mental alertness.
Yesterday was a Baltimore day all day and part of the early evening. Was it fun, no way. Today is either a catch up day or a few naps day. Or a mix of the two option. Hubby is going to the golf course, he earned it after spending his day with me yesterday. It wasn't fun for him either.
You had asked on your blog what I fed that squirrel, well I fed him nothing but he found the oranges I put out for the birds. Two winters ago I discovered that squirrels really like citrus fruit! I have been fighting crows the last couple of weeks, they like the peanuts that I put out for the bluejays and titmice! Well, I do not like crows! So this morning I stood out in the cold and chased away crows until the bluejays came to assert their ownership of peanuts.
I guess I better go take care of a few chores before the cleaning crew arrives, after they leave it will be nap time!
Thank you for liking my flowers. I am more than glad to share the colors, I wish that I could share the scents.
Have a wonderful day.

My local DIL pointed out the following site for me to look at. It belongs to a neighbor who photographes local scenes and people. This is the website:

And this is a video of a park near us, in the town where I worked. I have been to the park many times to eat lunch in a nice setting (I used to go with my Chinese art teacher, and other friends), to watch people paint, bump into a wedding that is taking place in the garden,... There is a lovely building with a theater and areas where art is exhibited. A few times some of my paintings hung on those walls.

NEWS ALERT
Maryland official says winning record Mega Millions ticket sold in Baltimore County
An official with the Maryland lottery says a record $640 million winning lottery ticket has been sold in Maryland, and there could be others nationwide, the Associated Press reports.
Carole Everett, director of communications for the Maryland Lottery, says the winning Mega Millions ticket was purchased at a retailer in Baltimore County. She said it’s too early to know any other information about the lucky ticket-holder or whether others were sold elsewhere in the nation.

Wow, could you imagine winning that much...or any big lotto for that matter.
I only bought one ticket. Guess I have to go to work this morning.
Wishing you a wonderful working day.
Have a wonderful weekend.
