Okay, I know - broken record even after some outstanding days of late. But come on. What has happened to the fairly accurate forecasts of late? I believe I have it figured out...

In the late 1960's and early 1970's the US Weather Bureau, soon to re-label National Weather Service, began purchase and installation of computerized weather prediction computers. Soon after that humans were removed from too many weather offices only to be replaced by mechanized 'observation' equipment. All well and good but machines don't have aches in their knees when its going to rain or muscle aches just before a snowstorm so the forecasts began to deteriorate from when humans created the forecasts. Eventually after a number of years of collecting digital data the forecasts began to become more accurate.

Then along comes Global Warming, as it used to be called, until the juice ran out for the pundits of GW - in other words the money to be made from the GW scams began drying up. Now the very same phenomenon is more correctly labeled Climate Change. Doesn't quite have the same Fearful Clout anymore does it? But I digress as I usually do...

So now the forecasts begin crapping out so to speak. I'm in here now because I just got drenched by some Partly Sunny skys. No warning - just showed up unannounced. But weather like that is going to and the professionals may have no idea why. Now, I'm not claiming to be an expert on the subject but I have been around awhile to observe what has been happening around me. So if I'm not aware of all the details, please forgive the following theory...

I believe what is occurring is due to using all the old outdated algorithms and prediction formulas developed in the late 1960's and the weather doesn't operate by the same rules any more. All the data and formulas are obsolete now. The changing climate has no frame of reference to create new 'improved' formulas to accurately forecast any further ahead than a few hours. Must be extremely perplexing to professional weather prognosticators when that happens. I guess the only way to accurately forecast weather anymore is hang a rock from a string and take a look every so often.

Until next time...

I've got a few extra minutes here... I'd like to get some yard work started, but rain most of the day does not constitute 'Party Sunny'. It continues to amaze me that even with millions of dollars of the highest tech equipment and global satellites, the 'science' can't seem to prognosticate weather correctly more than about 30 minutes into the future. I'm not slamming the people here, after all they are only going with what a Machine is telling them and we all know ...

Well, its been over a month since I posted the last entry, something relating to things appearing to be actually cooling down. That old cycle of Weather at it again. And all this while, at least for the last couple decades at least, there are those who have been profiting from some made up story about Global Warming. Plus, I'm really surprised that the last few posts haven't had some of those GW advocates flying out of the woodwork like Banshees as they would in the...
