Wilton Weather 09/30/2010 Morning

We had no rain overnight. When I went out this morning to check my electric meter I was able to note the partly cloudy skies and comfortable temperatures. This seems to be shaping up to be a nice day so far. The N.O.A.A. is not quite so optimistic. They call for an 80% chance of rain today with an accumulation of 0.30” of rain and a 100% chance of rain overnight with an accumulation of 0.73” of rain. That will give us over an inch of rain taking us to over 6” of rain for the month of September.



The NEXRAD regional composite radar this morning shows another massive slug of moisture and rain moving in our direction. It should reach us by noon at the latest, and provide us with some significant precipitation. More on that in the evening report if my wife will let me get to it. She has been an excellent manipulator of keeping me away from the evening reports in particular.

(The Highs and Lows are taken between 03:00 hours and 15:00 hours and again between 15:00 and 03:00. The current data is taken as close to 06:00 and at 18:00 hours as possible.)
Barometric Pressure (Vue): 29.964 in. Hg. Steady @ 0.000 in. Hg at (06:27 hours).
Heat Index/Wind Chill (Temp. must be >75°F or <65°F): N/A°F (06:27 hours). Currently there is no Wind Chill because the wind has not reached the threshold of @ 06:27.

Weather Stick: Down @ 99% relative humidity @ 09:12. The photo from 09/27/2010 is a good match for today’s photo.

The N.O.A.A. missed 4 of the possible 20 forecasts overnight which gives them a percentage of 80% or a B-. They missed 100% of the relative humidity levels. They are once again attempting to improve, and they continue to try.

The N.O.A.A. calls for our temperatures to change a bit (+12°F) with very light winds, slightly decreasing relative humidity (as it seems we have every morning) and dew points in the mid-fifties to mid-sixties. We should have a nice day with partly cloudy skies and warmer than normal temperatures, although according to N.O.A.A. we are in for some rain.

Weather Forecast from the VantageVue: Increasing clouds with little temperature change The N.O.A.A. says an 80% chance for rain today with 0.30” of added precipitation tonight we can expect a 100% chance of rain with 0.73” of new precipitation. That will provide us with more than 6” of rain for the month of September. We will see how that works for them.
