Derecho Round 2? Oh boy...

First thing first... Must stay calm...


I'm getting concerned about a potential repeat of the derecho event of June 29th. Many of the same factors are going to be in place including temps into the 90s to almost 100, dew points near 70 or more, and CAPE above 3000 J/kg. There is also going to be another vort-max rotating around an upper trough which will provide the lifting mechanism for those storms. Below is an image of precip at hour 30 and 33. Notice the speed at which the storms move and the 15 degree drop in temps. This is between the hours of 6 and 9 tomorrow night.

Long story short of my worries:



The Storm Prediction Center already has a slight risk out for tomorrow, so the potential is also recognized by them. Please at least keep an extra eye to the weather tomorrow and heed all warnings. I hope this does not happen but as I said the signs are worrying me.
