I live and work in metropolitan Lewisport, KY. I like webcams, through which I can see the whole world!

Now go make some memories with Dad that your kids will treasure!
Gosh. Sorry to hear about all the "re-arrangements" that are taking place. But, BriarCraft is exactly right - this is a wonderful teaching moment. I still remember the year that I wanted to go on a certain trip in junior high. My folks said, "We've already had our vacation, and spent our vacation money. But, if you want to do this, and will be willing to save for it, we'll match whatever you save and we'll make the trip."
As I recall it wasn't all that much - gas money, motel and food, etc. But my goodness - I babysat my heart out, and cut grass and did who knows what all, and we went on the trip to a museum I wanted to see in a corner of Iowa. But I learned a little something about deferring pleasure - never one of my favorite things to do!
It will work out. There may be something else that pops up that will appeal to all of you even more.
Speaking of appealing, I thought I'd capture of bit of the Lost Coast for you tonight. It was just beautiful.
Teaching moment for me too, Briar! There's still a stubborn streak in me that if work picks up considerably in the next few months, then perhaps a 3-4 day trip would be in order. IF.
Actually, I've come a long way from about 7-8 years ago. "Old me" would have whipped out the ol' credit card, and away we would go. About 5 years ago I put down all our monthly bills on a calendar, and frankly, I was shocked. Except for using a Lowes card when I was laid off to buy supplies for an emergency bathroom remodel, I never used a credit card again.
Nicely done, Shore! Did you do anything to it besides adding a frame to it? Looks a lot better than normal! As for something popping up, if it did, I wouldn't be surprised. Seems like a lot of stuff that happens wouldn't have been imagined only a few months before! We'll see!
You probably figured that I stayed over an extra 4 tonight. Every little bit helps! :)
The doctor would have locked me up if I'd have called him. The was a holiday and it wasn't trash day today. lol
Thought we were going to get some storms today, but they never materialized here! made it up to 72! It's hard to believe that daffodils are blooming already, and mosquitos are buzzing about! I also saw a flock of about 50 redwing blackbirds! Never saw more than five or six at a time, ever! It was beautiful to watch them take off!
Lost Coast cam looks nice, even though it's been almost an hour since it last updated! I don't expect to do a new blog tonight, or even go scouting for new cams. My only goal on the blogs tonight is to go say hi to everyone! :)
Hi, Trauma! My dad was the biggest influence on my early financial attitude; he never saw a loan he didn't like! Two bankruptcies later, my father has enough pension and SS to live comfortably, but not much else for extra stuff.
Hey, Tony, you're not the only one who wonders if it's trash day or not, and then guesses wrong, lol!
Evenin', Todd!
Hi, Alley! it was a really nice day here! I just wish I had time to slow down and enjoy it!
I did mess a little with the photo, but not much. Because of the fog, I sharpened it just a little, saturated the color a bit, toned down the bright sky and took out a camera reflection that cut through the whole picture. Then I slapped a frame on it and said, "That's pretty!" I was glad I stopped by to catch it at just the right time!
ADD: I forgot. I thought you might get a kick out of this local AP news story.
By Associated Press, Updated: Thursday, February 23, 8:53 PM
DEER PARK, Texas A sting operation by a suburban Houston police department netted one of their own when surveillance cameras caught an officer repeatedly stealing colleagues' food and drinks from the refrigerator in the station's break room.
Deer Park police Officer Kevin Yang was charged with misdemeanor theft and suspended for 30 days without pay. Deer Park Police Chief Greg Griggs tells KTRK-TV of Houston that a class C misdemeanor conviction would not keep Yang from returning to duty.
Griggs says he authorized the video sting because the thefts have been going on for too long. Even though the items being stolen may be of trivial value, Griggs says theft is theft.
Yang tells KTRK that he was merely taking it upon himself to keep the shared refrigerator clean.
LOL!
I wish I could do to the cams what you do to your photos! Black hole at Milos? After a couple of clicks, no black hole! :)
Honestly, there were no clouds when I looked, but by the time I had read through the latest posts some had rolled in!
Do you know, if I wasn't so nosy I could get through blogland much quicker!
I have to stop and read what others have written, and some days I get so engrossed I forget to write my own comment!! lol
I wouldn't call it being nosy, only "informed", lol! Besides, if they didn't want you to read it, they shouldn't have posted! :)
Have yourself a safe and happy Friday dear one.
Shenandoah looks pretty this morning!
The cams are doing OK; My gut is telling me that this group of cams is lacking in the "wow" factor, so I'm probably going to put up a new blog tonight! I already have six cams picked out, so it shouldn't be too bad! Time allowing, I may add a new feature to the blog and see how that turns out!
Sandi, my mom is 64, as she was married at 16, and had me at 17, so what do you think? :)
I'm back. I'll maunder on on my place about the road trip. My younger daughter had our fine first grand daughter when mom was 17. She did not wish to marry the father and considered adopting out. We went along but once the girl was born it came to all of us - we do not give up grand children!
Dat's what I think.
The cams so far have been great and I look forward to whatever views we get. Should be some funny ones on Drive BC today since the "Sea To Sky" got snow. It's pretty dark now here.
Viewing: 51 - 73
