Checked in about 8 pm last night, about 80 comments.
Now about 340. I've seen a lot of names that have been missing for years. This reunion was a great idea Aub.
Jesse
The season is upon us "formally" again.
Stay Safe, Gnight >
I had totally forgotten the F5 of my keyboard... wow, been a long time since sub's parties.
Hi LWF!! I scrolled back a bit...I see a lot of 'old' names. That does not imply that anyone is old in age, only old as in been around a while!!
I can't possibly keep up with the music though.....hubby has the tube on....nothing really good on yet.
What do you guys think about the season?
Didn't someone have a bet going with when the first storm would hit and how many would actually make land fall? Has anyone done that yet?
Finn, we don't need to be talking about old pharts. I have 6 great grandkids and another one on the way. Would that make me older than dirt?
Jesse
Pray for fish storms. Parts of my hometown are still completely destroyed from Irene. It looked like a bomb went off down here. You hear some of the old timers that had been here for all the old greats Hazel Hugo etc say they've never seen that much water. I think it was a combination of the big surge and the fact that in around 24 hours my area saw over 15 inches of rain. Bayboro was reported as one of the highest amounts and water was getting into the courthouse one of the highest areas in Pamlico county.
NC is putting up a hurricane shield this year. We don't want any.
{{{BLU}}}
I'll keep you all in my thoughts.
Well, it's been such a long day for me. I'm pooped and we have the grandkids tomorrow and then overnight. I'd better rest up so I can keep up!
I'll come back and browse through all the contributions.
Aubie- thanks for sponsoring this. We used to have such fun on the blogs. We still can :)
Have a wonderful evening everyone!
I have been watching humidity percentages rise at Aubie's weather station (Smiths Station, AL). Was 73% when I got here tonight, now up to 81%. We are some hot/humid WUBANS - LoL
HAVE A GREAT NIGHT EVERYONE.
They have graduation on Thursday and they are expecting 105. Pretty hot!!!
.....and that's why I don't live there! LOL
:)
;)
How about bacon butties for breakfast!
Hi all, glad you had a good party! SO MUCH music not enough food!!
Wishing everyone the other side of the Pond a very safe H Season.
{{{Aubie}}} it was wonderful to have us old and young phawts together here, I'll be back many times!
I also wish everybody a safe season and hope that my coastal WU-friends are prepared in spite of the below average forecast. It only takes one and it's unfortunately coming, just don't know to who's door. Thanks to you all for teaching me that truth and how to make my plan and kit every June :)
{{{Sandi}}} - I put the rest of the food in da fridge, lots left!
...Finn drags her ol' bones to bed with a smile on her face...
C'mon, Sandi, let's keep this thing going all night!
I've already changed the bedding, set off the washer, cleaned the shower room, (after my shower) dried my hair, applied a little make-up (don't need much, I am beautiful enough!) and now I am about to go to the supermarket to get the rest of the ingredients needed for baking, for tomorrow afternoon tea.
I will bring you some cold chicken, and pass over some home-made ginger and apple cake I knocked-up last night, and if you are still here when the shortbread is ready, you can have some of that, too:)
Sleep well, Finn :))
What up Everybody???
Don't worry, Aubie said we could use his blog to celebrate all weekend!! lol
Danny your problem is that you don't operate well without lots of snow surrounding you......just the wrong season. Go look at my fish in Ogal's blog.
To make it easy on you, here's Clem's little cousin from the sunshine state with the cleaning crew. He're here for the whole season! We sure made a mess - but everyone knows we're a wild bunch...
Hahaha...poor pup...you sure he didnt help make the mess?dont look much like the cleaning kind...
You mentioned somewhere way back in the thread (paraphrasing) ........ not like the old getogathers ....... well, mon it has been said 'you can't go home again', but what I've found is that a person can make a new home, all the while keeping the old one fond in their memories.
Life, blogs, bloggers, weather, wUnder..... are not static, and while sometimes we (and me) are resistant to change, it would be a dull ol' world if things were static. Myself, I've laid aside all the frets and woes of my past and looking toward the horizon.... and that which is, as always, right in front of me and next to me. I place little value on how long a person has been here on Wunderground, giving respect more to the quality of time spent.
What does this maudlin pedantic prose have to do with the reunion? Nothing perhaps, except to say that there are no antagonists any more -- if there ever were -- in the stories of self that we write in our own books of life. [geez, give it a rest Crab] Yah. I know, but having crossed 54 I want to talk about more than the weather and more on the strings of the multidimensional universe that we have shared and will again.
Two dogs, Clem and Rufus, walk into a bar, and the bartender says........... (to be continued)
Distilled down: I hope you choose to do this again; it was a great beginning.
It did turn out great..and I think we do need to do it again..you right..times change..nothing stays the same and new times have to start somewhere...Thank you all for making this work..I hope we can all stay a little closer,we have been together after all for years now.
For our friend Taz...BUMP
Hahaha...
Now I am happy!:)
