May 31, 2012 - Another Run to the Clouds. Like the first day of May, the last day had clouds and fog along the running course up Batavia Lane. As the marathon draws closer, runs take place rain or shine.

May 30, 2012 - Victory at Apple Tree. There are several apple trees around the ranch. This one looks like it will have a good crop this year!

May 22, 2012 - Under the Apple Tree. Moments of sun over the last couple of weeks have given enough warmth so that the apple trees are in full blossom.

May 21, 2012 - Rain over the Ranch Buildings. The day started with just a short glance at the sun. Most of the day had shower off and on, keeping everything pretty wet.

May 20, 2012 - Morning Sunrise Colors. Clouds moving in at sunrise giving a nice color to the start of the day. Lately, more clouds than sun have been the rule, but these brief glimpses of the sun have been good.

May 19, 2012 - Elk Trio. A small trio from the elk herd that has been around several times this spring just above the ranch walking trail this morning.

May 14, 2012 - Herd above the Running Route. The herd of horses, (and others) was just above the running route today as I headed back to the ranch during my run. Looking good in the bright sunshine and clear blue sky.

May 13, 2012 - Glacier National Park. It was a great day for a hike with friends at Glacier National Park. Scenes along Lake McDonald and McDonald Creek followed by a hike through Trail of the Cedars and following Avalanche Trail to Avalanche Lake. (Slide show)


May 12, 2012 - Riding at Heron Horse Park. It was the Heron Park Horse Trials day and Patti rode in one of the sessions.

May 3, 2012 - Sprouting Tamarack. Some sunshine and warmer temperatures and finally the Tamarack needles are sprouting out! Spring at last in NW Montana!

May 2, 2012 - Walking in the Rain. The day was mostly cloudy today and the walk with the dogs was done during a light rain shower.

May 1, 2012 - Clouds in the Hills. This is what it looked like up the road as I rounded the corner above the ranch to head out on my run today. It was a combination of rain and snow pellets (graupel). Not a very pleasant run, but I did it!

Oh, my! I've been entirely too absent! Got to get some supper and go varnish once it cools a bit - then I'll be back to enjoy all this spring/summer beauty!

GG and shore: May came and went so fast I was way behind in posting here ... so, now it is almost the end of June and I am trying to catch up! Spring has become Summer (after a very slow transition, even into feeling like Spring) and now the days are already getting shorter! I hope that does not mean winter is just around the corner!
