Anybody here ever traveled to Myrtle Beach, SC and visited the Pavillion? Believe it or not, it is closing this year.

THE MYRTLE BEACH PAVILION has been entertaining generations of families for more than fifty years. An 11-acre playground by the sea, The Myrtle Beach Pavilion features more than 40 spectacular rides ranging from a large variety of kiddie rides to the Hurricane Category 5, the biggest, baddest roller coaster in South Carolina

MB Pavillion

I think it is just the trend. The older parks are going out & replaced by large "theme" parks. Is that the case in other states too?

The signature attraction of MB Pavilion is the "Hurricane" roller coaster.

Posted by: carolinagal, 3:26 PM GMT on July 04, 2006 +0
I have enjoyed seeing the different festivals. (See previous blog.) Please continue to include those in this blog also. THANKS!

I came across this recipe. I haven't tried it - but with two kids (and a few borrowed ones most of the time), it would be a hit. recipe from BrightIdeas.com

What do you think? I love Snickers.

Happy Fourth to everyone.

SNICKERSŪ Independence Day Delight
Everyone will love this slice of Americana at your Fourth of July picnic. It's a tasty way to celebrate Independence Day!
Prep time: 20 min.
Decoration time: 20 min.
Difficulty: Easy

What you'll need:
1 bag SNICKERSŪ Brand Miniatures, chopped
1 5.1-oz. box instant vanilla pudding
2 cups whipped topping or whipped cream
1 pint strawberries, leaves removed and cut into 1/8-inch slices
2 16-oz. family size frozen pound cakes, thawed
1 cup blueberries
1 ceramic dish (8-1/2 x 11-inch)

What to do:
Prepare pudding mix according to package directions. Set aside.
Cut the two pound cakes into 1-inch squares.
Assemble in the ceramic dish. Start with a layer of half of the cake squares; top with a layer of chopped SNICKERSŪ Brand Miniatures; cover with a layer of vanilla pudding; and top with the remaining cake squares.
Spread the whipped topping over the very top.
Decorate the top to look like a flag: Make 5 red stripes using the sliced strawberries. Then, in the top left-hand corner, fill a 4 x 3-inch area with blueberries for the stars.

Refrigerate until ready to serve.

FUN SUBSTITUTE: Try POP'ABLESŪ SNICKERSŪ Brand Bite Size Candies, chopped, instead of SNICKERSŪ Brand Miniatures in Step 3.
Makes 12 servings.
