Well, I hope summer's going well for everyone. We've had some pretty hot days out this way and then some pretty wet and cool days too.
July 11, 2007 was the hottest I've seen in the Olympia area in quite awhile. Our outdoor thermometer showed 103+ Fahrenheit in the shade at 5:00 p.m. and the Kestrel showed 104+ degrees Fahrenheit in the direct sunlight... 112+ Fahrenheit on the deck (which is painted dark brown).
The official reading for Olympia at the airport was a record 99 degrees Fahrenheit.
Either way, that's HOT for around here. We're just not used to that type of stuff and if you've ever been to western Washington you know we get a bit more than our fair share of "condensation"... this "condensation" couple with those temperatures adds up to a very hot and humid afternoon.
Not pretty.
Even the dogs hated me.
