Well, I need an upbeat story today, don't you? And presto! here one is..... Now, this isn't really fringe, as it's an established news story, but hey, you might not see it, it being a GOOD story and all. [37 seconds of grumbling with intermittant expletives about the nature of media and news]. Okay, got that out of my system. For now. Check out this story about Beached Pygmy Sperm Whales Being Saved By a Dolphin and also a short video . The repercussions of this are amazing to me. Now here are two distinctly different species, and one helping the other. It may be an anthropomorphism on my part, but it really seems like there was clear communication between the two species. Does that sound too fuzzy? Tough nuggets. So why can't we?

Well there've been some interesting, perhaps somewhat more upbeat, less conspiratorial tidbits floating out there in cyberspace lately. Lets go step off the trail a wee bit, shall we? It's not too far, and we won't get lost, trust me. Hmmmmmmmm.

y'have a cuppa of whatever starts your day? good.

Okay.... have your heard about the alleged French aviation expert who talks about [formerly] secret meetings at the UN about UFOs? Amidst all the tensions and strife, it doesn't seem the most important Earth issue, with that sticky little wicket of not blowing ourselves up and all..... still.... perhaps a positive step. Maybe that's where they got the idea for the extracellular matrix ..... y'know, just in case a tentacle falls off or something. Good stuff to have around.

.......and you thought glitter was a modern invention..... not so, says Mayan expert Dave Hansford of National Geographic . And, even more interesting and considerably older is the ancient civilization recently discovered underwater in the Gulf of Cambay near India and while we're headed in a backward vector, why not zip back to 2-4 million years ago and thank God that the one-ton megaRODENT isn't still around. Not as scary as two-foot ants, but right up there on the quivver scale. And what's up with the roof-ripping vultures of Polk County, FL? Damon? You know anything about this? Political protest? Run out of mountain dew? What?

Time for a little gratuitous weather -- this being a weather site and all... Apparently, China aims to try to control its weather at the upcoming Olympic Games. Perfect. I feel much safer now, do you? I was glad to see that the US Olympic team plans to take their own food and beverage to Beijing. Hopefully bring their own toys too ;o)

Thanks for stopping by.... feel free to leave your little tidbits of interest/oddity/whatever.

Happy Almost weekend!

Hey crab - that was a delightful story about the whales and the dolphin. Here's one from my blog - a bit different - but still, one species helping another:

Now here are two distinctly different species, and one helping the other. ~ your words

Happy Easter, Crab & Bride!

What a terrific story about the dolphin and the whales. Cross-species is marvelous, but there's always cross... ummm... Well, peek into my blog for the story of my dead great-aunt giving me a hand!

Best wishes for a full and wonderful weekend!

Whew. You just about fell off the page, crabs.
Just checking out your recent photos. Iguana gets my vote, and the camo lizard is cool, too.

Trust you and Bride had a great Easter.

LMBO!!!! Rainman, you get the golden fringe award of the week! You come up with the best stuff.... thank you!!

Thanks much Catfur! It's working wonders so far, and I'll detail the treatment pretty soon. It's not a permanent implant, as I mistakenly implied, but a disposable device. WONDERFUL!!

Hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend. Safe travels everyone ;o)

Morning, Crab! I have to echo Kai, as I didn't realize the Bride was having problems, either. Been a bit AWOL lately, as you know, and I just caught a reference to the fact here and there.

I first thought you meant it was one of those permanent implants, too. Had no idea they now have disposable/temporary ones. The wonders of modern technology... Glad to hear that it's helping.

Heading up the road in a couple of hours to meet up with Dad and my Bubba. Got things to discuss, papers to sign. Crappy things but they must be addressed. Sigh....

Hope you and the Bride have a good day.
