Getting Engaged and Snow

So Friday, December 4th was a big day.

For most of the Houston area, it was the earliest snow ever on record. Most of the metro area received anywhere from a trace to 2 inches. The Woodlands area received about half an inch, but for the most part, no accumulations (except on some rooftops). Areas further south on the US 59 corridor received more, with Sugar Land, Bellaire, and Richmond getting 1-2 inches.

On a more personal (and significant front)... I am no longer a bachelor. I decided a while back that I had found the woman that I wanted to live the rest of my life with. Friday night, at her place, with snow on the ground and a fire in the fireplace, I asked her to marry me. She said yes, and then proceeded to jump up and down half a dozen times in joy. I still am not able to wipe the happy grin off my face, and neither is she. I am working on getting some good pics of the ring and us together, and I can send them to people individually if they want to take a look.

Now.. I'm going to get off this blog, and spend some time with my new fiancee.

~Jeff

Quoting JFLORIDA:
Hey jefs hope all is well - wont acknowledge you on the main blog cause I am persona non grata there and dont want to embarrass you.

No worries, everything is going well here. Once I get a chance, I plan on putting together an update over what has been keeping me so busy, and also why the Houston area has been so wet and cold lately.

Thank you all for the kind words!

My fiancee and I definitely appreciate them, and it is wonderful to see that WU is still a good blogging community.

Another one bites the dust, Jeff.
May you strike that happy balance between "no experience necessary" and "a lot of unnecessary experience"!

Congratulations if you insist!

Jeff - how wonderful and congratulations -
I guess it was lucky you didn't wait for the next time it snowed for that backdrop - might not happen again for a while LOL

All the best to you and yours.

Well congratulations, how romantic, proposing to your "sweetie" on a cold, snowy, ROMANTIC Friday evening!

I was married 23 yrs, I have been widowed 9 yrs. I raised a family, 7 of us total, we all had some real good times along the way. Love one another always, through all situations and enjoy.

Be Blessed, Peace be with you BOTH:
