Spring cycles / fluctuations

More than usual, this spring has seen cyclical patterns that have persisted for 2 or more weeks, then shifted sharply to another pattern.

Earlier, in April, there was a long spell of sunny mild days, chilly nights, low humidity, windy, fire danger warnings daily--typical of say SF Bay Area in the warm season.

Now we've just concluded a few weeks of wet mild dark cloudy stormy weather, ending with a 2-storm rainfall blast totaling about 10 cm.
