After about a month "off the air" we are finally back to normal. On Nov. 29 our wireless internet connection (Digital Path) went out after, or as a result of, a power outage during a storm. After doing some remote diagnosis with the Tech in Chico, it was decided that the "head" on the antenna in the tree needed replacement. Earliest availability of their tree climber was 12/28! After a couple of weeks we got moved up to 12/21 but that appointment was subsequently cancelled due to a good snow storm in progress, for safety reasons. Finally, on Fri. 12/28, we got a Tech and a tree climber up here with OK weather for tree climbing. It had subsequently snowed about 5 ft. and we had about 3 ft. of settle snow on the ground. Before the tree climber went up the tree, the Tech checked the fundamentals thru the diagnostic software and discovered that the antenna was set to receive a different channel than was available from transmitter. Apparently, changes had been made at the transmitter and the antennas were supposed to be reset accordingly, but our antenna didn't follow the program. The Tech reset the antenna and all was well without the climber ever going up the tree. :-) So, all is well again with uploads of our PWS KCAALMAN1, and access to the Internet is back to normal. Here's hoping it continues the rest of the winter with no hiccups. :-)
