My old weather station has been pretty dependable over the last four years. Only the occasional hiccup when batteries in the sending unit get low. Now, in the last two weeks it is having issues almost every other day. Is it just starting to wind down knowing it is soon to be replaced?

Once I get the new station, I hope to run them in parallel for a couple weeks to verify everything prior to cutting over to the new weather station for reporting here. Will see how that goes.

Hoping to update the weather station equipment in the next month or two. Would like to finally go to a Davis VP2 from the older La Crosse that I have had the last four year.

The last week has been pretty amazing for our area. Nearly 10 inches of snow in the last three days with another 6-8 expected overnight. Hasn't been above freezing here for over a week. The wind speed indicator froze up this morning with the freezing rain. Probably won't be working again until next weekend when temps are expected to be back above freezing for an extended time.

Total temperature change today was 4.5F from high to low. Almost a perfectly flat line all day long. The dew point temp was rising the whole time as the humidity kept increasing.Got a bit of rain, but not much to speak of. Now they are talking about a high of 88F by Friday. That will be a change.
