Retired and loving it. If I'd have known about retirement befor I started my 40 year career with the government of Manitoba I'd have retired first. :)

Overcast here today and not as warm. Looks like the next l4 days will be below the freezing mark but still no indication of loads of snow heading our way. My lawn is green and frozen again. Only a few patches of snow here and there. We still have 3 weeks of real cold Feb weather before it starts to look more like Spring. Guess we can hold out that long...LOL
Have a great day dear one. Good luck with your appointment.
Today is Friday, Feb. 5, the 36th day of 2010. There are 329 days left in the year.
Today's Highlight in History:
On Feb. 5, 1937, President Franklin D. Roosevelt proposed a Judiciary Reorganization Bill that would have increased the number of Supreme Court justices; critics accused Roosevelt of attempting to "pack" the court.(The measure failed in Congress.)
On this date:
In 1631, the co-founder of Rhode Island, Roger Williams, and his wife, Mary, arrived in Boston from England.
In 1783, Sweden recognized the independence of the United States.
In 1811, George, Prince of Wales, was named the Prince Regent due to the insanity of his father, Britain's King George III.
In 1887, Verdi's opera "Otello" premiered at La Scala.
In 1917, Congress passed, over President Woodrow Wilson's veto, an immigration act severely curtailing the influx of Asians. Mexico's constitution was adopted.
In 1940, Glenn Miller and his orchestra recorded "Tuxedo Junction" for RCA Victor's Bluebird label.
In 1958, Gamal Abdel Nasser was formally nominated to become the first president of the new United Arab Republic (a union of Syria and Egypt).
In 1973, services were held at Arlington National Cemetery for Army Lt. Col. William B. Nolde, the last official American combat casualty before the Vietnam cease-fire.
In 1989, the Soviet Union announced that all but a small rear-guard contingent of its troops had left Afghanistan.
In 1994, white separatist Byron De La Beckwith was convicted in Jackson, Miss. of murdering civil rights leader Medgar Evers in 1963, and was immediately sentenced to life in prison. (Beckwith died Jan. 21, 2001 at age 80.)
Ten years ago: Right-wing leader Joerg Haider (yohrg HY'-dur) told a deeply divided Austria not to worry about international sanctions, saying the new governing coalition that included his Freedom Party would soon prove its democratic credentials to the world.
I certainly hope the appointment is very fruitful for you, Tony, and that you will have continued progress.
Chilly and damp in San Antonio today. Much paperwork to catch up on after being gone for three weeks.
Take care
The Facebook crowd are wandering around in a daze as they are missing thier fix of what is going on. I can get around here at work for some semblance of my routine.
Great to hear you are still making the stroke more of a little glitch than a major setback.
ROB
Although it is supposed to rain again on monday, I just looked out the window and can see stars....The first clear non-overcast day in days!
I'm going to stay "late" just to enjoy blue skies.
