When I was a lad I just couldn't wait for Xmas. I enjoyed the decorated trees and music My family had. We use to get ready to decorate the house right after Halloween. It took my father almost a month to get the outside of the house decorated. He always enjoyed making sure our house was one that everyone would drive by to see it. In our family tradition we would turn our lights on the tree and the outside right after we had Thanksgiving Dinner. They would be on till The first weekend in Jan.

He had music going with the lights and he was a man ahead of his time. He was a big kid at Christmas time and enjoyed everyone coming around and seeing his master piece. He would always out do his self every yr.

There would be at least a million lights on the house and some people use to joke and say you could find our house by the star he had above the house almost 20 feet high and people would say just look for the star and follow it till you find the house. Just as the 3 wise men did to find Baby Jesus. He had figures out all over the lawn of all different things. One side of the yard would be animals and the other side would be Santa and the north pole, but always the nativity set would be in the center of the yard on a platform with the Manger and the animals and the wise men there and Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus.

He was not a religious man but always remembered what Christmas was was all about. The birth of Christ first then the tree and then the kids. As I said my father was a big kid at Christmas.

We would go singing through the neighborhood on Christmas eve and then go sledding on the golf course. We would have a great time doing this ( He also knew it would ware us out and we ould want to go to bed as soon as we got home.)

The morning of Christmas we were not aloud to open presents till we came back from hearing Christmas Mass and go see some of our relatives like our Grandparents ( Mom & Dads). Those were the good old days and as a adult I try to keep up the tradition as my Father did.

Here are a few pics of our tree we have decorated and have lite.

Hope to hear more family Christmas stories or your favorite music from this blessed season. We all have our fravote stories and music so let share and give the gift of giving stories and song.

Merry Christmas Everyone
