I took 21 observations last night, compared to the usual 8 per shift. First, it was a thunderstorm. Then, a stratus layer got pushed in front of a rain shower early in the morning. Both the thunderstorm and the morning shower stalled 10 miles east of the station like they were teasing me. The thunderstorm would throw lightning right across the 10 mile line, causing me to start and end thunderstorms and report them via special observation. The visibility and would flirt up and down between reportable values for special observations. I feel like I did a week's worth of work in just a few hours. Needless to say, I'm wiped.
No issues tonight! I get to rest a little and work on what I want to.
