H1N1 Precautions:

1. Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

2. Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.

3.Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. The virus can spread this way.

4. Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

5. If you get sick with influenza, stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.

1. If you are sick, limit your contact with other people as much as possible. Do not go to work or school if ill.

2. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick. Put your used tissue in the waste basket.

3. Cover your cough or sneeze if you do not have a tissue. Then, clean your hands, and do so every time you cough or sneeze.

We remember MS SC. The other was manmade, MS took the brunt of her, but was forgotten in the media of the large city nearby. Sad all the way around. Hopefully, things have changed. TX did great with Ike, but in part, it was the massive size of TX that helped bring it to light, and the close proximity to another large city. Hello my friends I have been a busy soul. I am embossed in a heated political campaign. Yes me I am running for a local office so perhaps I might can make a change. I am learning its not what you know but just what you can do about it so I have stepped up to the plate and we shall see if its possible. If we are to make changes then we must be willing to take the chances. I hope all are doing well and I have not changed I still care as much as I ever did about preparedness and life safety so now I am trying to become a small voice that can make a little difference. Hello old friends. I have read the 2012 forecast for this 2012 season and do hope it is true.Link I however feel that the GOM is in a heated state very early and development close to the area might cause some havoc. I hope my gut feelings are incorrect but the Bay of Campeche and that regiom as well as the northern Carrib. might have a few surprises in store. Water temps are high early unless something changes and it seems to have been a trend of cutt-off lows this year so I am a bit skeptical. I again just look at some historic data as well as long time local knowledge of this region and again I hope I am very wrong. Well Hello to everyone and hope 2013 is starting well for all. I has been a while since I posted although I am still around most every day. I have been quite busy since Sandy hit and was able to go to Maryland through the EMAC process and lend a small hand in doing Public Assistance Damage Assesments. Met some very wonderful people there and they made me feel very welcome. I still continue to be active in the Emergency Management world and have merged more into the fire side these days. I am still teaching all the NIMS classes and some FEMA PA classes as well. I do miss the daily work some but I have been able to actually help more in a broader enviornment since I have not been responsible for a specific area.
