Tuesday, June 12, 2012: I took Rylee & Nolan all day; we spent the morning at Flamingo Gardens.
Wednesday, June 13, 2012: Nolan was in his preschool and Rylee's camp has not yet started so she and I spent the morning at Butterfly World.

And I have the pictures to prove it. About 36 or so!
It may take a while to put them all here. I did get them all approved thru WU!

-------------------------------------- ---

Here are my weather Maps. This one had to be removed from my above the blog spot; it was causing my computer problems.

-------------------------------------

I found out, these maps are measuring fire hazard and soil moisture, not necessary drought according to rainfall.

I guess you did not have a Yankee Doodle grandbaby. Wishing the mom to be an easy delivery, and the baby an easy entry into this world. Take care lucky granny! Or should I say grandma?

Good luck to you, grandma to be again!!

Just saying hi. Great evening. Sitting on my balcony (with a beer, of course). Very pleasant 81 degrees now. Reached 88 today. Real summer for once. Of course it is only very temporary, till Sunday to be exact. Watching a thunderstorm drift off in the distance. Had a real doozy of a t-storm about 4 a.m. this morning.

Ylee, Maybe, Rylee was born on July 3rd , Ellen's water broke right in the middle of our
Pool Party BBQ (we celebrated on 3rd so everyone could recover on 4th)..

So I have my tickets and trying to work and in between get things done a little quicker...

I may not be back her much. I do hope to set up a new thread but we will see...

Wow, Gamma, that's a big change, but if they're ready, they're ready! Maybe Teagan will be a Yankee Doodle Dandy, born on the 4th of July! :)

well guess what, Betsey is probably going to have this baby natually before her C Section date of July 14th.

I am now leaving Sunday, I changed my ticket at a cost of $190! But I got to get there as soon as I can so I will be there to help with Baron when she goes into labor.
She has been in early labor and baby is in place and ready to come now.

I was suppost to leave Tuesday July 10th.
now I am leaving Sunday July 1st.

So, we will see what happens if little
Teagan Oliver arrives before Gamma gets
there or he behaves and waits until next week!

I need to set up a new blog thread before I leave.

I am out of touch with almost everything else.

After this week, next week I am off Wed & Thur so only working Fri & Sat.
then off 2 weeks in a row.

Good morning, Gamma! Hope your first day back at work is going well! I had only 3-4 issues ongoing here when I arrived this morning, so I'll consider it a blessing, lol!

Did you know the Cardinals was in Miami earlier this week?

Good morning and yes I am at work again.

I did get a lot done around the house Monday and Wednesday. Tuesday I had Nolan all day and Rylee from 4-7pm.

Yesterday I did get up my bamboo rods over the sliders and got the white shears hung.
They turned out very good. Also bought a new throw rug for kitchen and foray.

Monday I did some shoping and got the new lamps and throw pillows. And Hung pictures.

The lady came yesterday morning and measured the double window for the plantation shutters which will be 4-6 weeks.

That should be the last thing left to do.

I will get more updated pictures soon as I completed the decorating part of the project.

But for now at work and very busy.

Enjoy your week.

Hi Jeff,

That was some storm that moved thru here late yesterday afternoon.

Wind blew my yard apart and leaves and small branches down.

Only got .4" from that storm but it was a doozie.

Glad you are ok.

So if anyone keeping totals. Now standing at 5.6" of rain from last 9 days ... or is it 10 days from Debby!

She appears to have crossed the state now and is in the Atlantic.

Good morning everyone,

This is my every other Wed morning that I normally have all to my self.
I love it. Coffee made and getting ready to enjoy a cup or two. No kids until I pick them both up around 4pm.

And Ellen has private swim lessons this week after she gets off work so that means she does not pick up kids until around 7pm.....
Yesterday was a long day for me to chase to 2 yr old nearly 11 hours!

This morning a lady is coming out to measure the double window for the plantation shutters.
I think they take like 5-8 weeks to arrive.

I need to run some errands in the afternoon if I can.
Noly is in preschool today so I need to get some of these things done.

Just hope it does not rain anymore for a while but we have a large percentage of rain in our forecast until Sunday. Oh well.

Enjoy your Wednesday.

It looks somewhat calm out my window right now..but we're under a wind advisory. Pompano Beach is reporting a gust of 49mph.

... Wind Advisory in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening...

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect until 8 PM EDT this evening.

* Timing... gusty southwest winds will continue through early this
evening.

* Winds... southwest winds of 25 to 30 mph with frequent gusts of
40 to 45 mph.

* Impacts... people need to secure loose items that could blown
around in the strong winds this afternoon... and high profile
vehicles need to use caution while driving.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least 30 mph
with gusts to near 40 mph are expected. Winds this strong can
make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles.
Use extra caution. Make sure to secure loose objects as they can
be blown around by winds this strong.

Hi NEw,
Been crazy busy here also. Just got back from Flamingo Gardens with Nolan. He wanted to go see the Peacocks.

He likes to "stalk" them! They are all mating now so they will attack; surprise one did not turn around and peck him! But got him out safe and sound.

Yes, North Florida is all blue. Cannot wait to see this afternoon what it looks like...

We have not been getting too much measurable rain in the past 2 days. But today we are p/c and very windy.
TS Debby's winds whipping around from the SW.

Thanks for stopping by! I am so glad I only have a 3 day week this week. Doubt I could handle another long week anytime soon!

I hear Noly.. got to go.. bbl

never mind, wasn't him but they should have been here 10 mins ago...

We had Nolan this afternoon for awhile.. but Poppy and Nolan had a Poppy & Grandson day while Gamma
did her thing and went shoping.

Then Ellen picked up Rylee from Camp before coming to get Nolan and Rylee pulled out her first tooth here.

It has been "wiggly" for a almost a week now.. and she has been trying to get it to fall out by wiggling it non stop.. she wants the Tooth Fairy Money!

This afternoon she pulled it out and I have a picture!

Will try to get them uploaded..

also some of Noly and his Poppy sitting on back truck of the Vette.. NO ONE HAS EVER sat on that car before...
Poppy is losing his edge when it comes to the grandkids! LOL

Bug, that is so true; those of us that were already pretty good, got really good when we went to WU!!!

Yes I am not doing shades over my kitchen window..
I am just doing a little tension rod so no need for hardware.. and going to drape a shear panel that I am using over the rest of the sliders... I may have to cut it down and make a seem but the price was right and I think I can do it.

I promise I will put up "finished" pictures eventually!!!

Today I bought 2 lamps for the family room aka living room (I don't have both just one big space to live in)

and they do not match. but I love them both and have been loving them for weeks now since I first saw them.

I took a chance because Home Goods only gets a few items and you can come back in a week and what you liked is gone...
I was lucky both of my lamps were still there.. and Hubby loved them.
Also got 5 throw pillows for the sofas...
and went to Bed Bath & Beyond and got hardware for sliders and white sheers to use ..
.but not covering those sliders up much.. just a small panel on the end of each slider...
not sure how this will come out but I am confident it will look good when I get it finished.

It is called decorating with imagination on a budget!

Hi, Gams.

RE: Kitchen window? How about a cheerful valance. Not curtain; just the valance. Something colorful and fun.

My former manager (she's now our director) actually emailed me from her cruise ship in 2008 for hurricane updates on Ike, et al. She was out there with three things to watch and her cruise had to change their itinerary to avoid them.

You know how much internet minutes COST you on those cruise ships? She was emailing me for updates daily!

I asked her, "Not that I mind but why in the world are you emailing me? Doesn't your captain keep you all updated?"

She said, "I like your updates better." LOL

Hi GG! In this type of weather the corvette stays in the garage and we hope it does not get flooded in there.

Hurricane Irene in either 1998 or 1999 got water into our garage 7" and almost got inside Vette just missed it. My SUV was only vehicle outside that did not get water inside. We could not get out of our neighborhood without a big pickup truck for 3 days!

Jeff & Bug, I hear you. I always talked about weather and knew what wa going on, but since I joined WU Blogs in 2005 I know enough to be dangerous! And family & friends are always asking me what the weather is going to be like.

Over on FB it is so funny because you can look at the main "wall" and immediate know who are WU folks..
the ones that put up their weather forecast every morning with their good morning greetings!

BF, YES I need some hip wadders here! But seriously our canals and drains and pools are over flowing. If this system goes rouge and brings more rain we will be in trouble!

Ylee, that is so right! The desire for a muscle car starts young in little boys. Our grand sons all love that car. But he is starting to complain about how hard it is to get in and out these days. I do hope we restore it eventually and keep it around.

Sandi, do it someday it feels good. I mean, sure sometimes when we are sick we are forced to stay in bed most of the day. but to stay there just to "rest" feels so good. Especially in a quiet empty house. But today the rest is over. Today I plan on hanging some picture and the foray mirrow and make some headway here. There is still much to do before I am "finished".
The electrician must come and finish up his part and hang the chandeliar. The window treament person is coming to measure the large double window for plantation shutters. And I need to select new lamps, throw pillows for sofa and window treatments for the sliders.
I may do a little something to the kitchen window. I don't want to cover it since it looks out on the patio and has a pass thru. But a little something would look nice.

So Thanks to you all for stopping by.

I see the models are still all over the place with Debby and she continues to move closer to Big Bend part of Fla. But has gone stationary once again so that usually means will change directions.

we will see.

Happy Monday!!

CRAP I just typed a whole post and then deleted it by accident! But I will re do it! LOL

Good morning my friends, thanks for stopping by.

About this rain situation here are my records.

1.0" Last Monday
1.4" Wednesday
1.2" Saturday
1.6" This morning Monday.

for 5.2" of rain from this system in the past 8 days.

Enough I say. We are molding down here..
and so many places across the Country are dry and hot and would love some of this rain!

What does sunshine look like anyway?

Do you know it is years since I laid in bed all day an watched mindless TV... but it sounds so good, I may have to do it!

Last night I was so tired, too. I decided to re-arrange the office and pack up some "stuff" belonging to someone else, and box them in the garage! I also got rid of some of my old stuff. Things I never have looked at, needed or even remembered I had!! lol
When I finally got to bed at midnight, I fell straight to sleep and slept until 8 am! I am usually awake at 6am!

Enjoy your Monday :)

Evenin' Gamma! Looks like Florida is hogging all the rain! :) Me and a whole lot of other folks wouldn't mind you sharing a bit! :)

The irony about old men and good sports cars is that when they are young, they couldn't afford Corvettes and Mustang Cobras and Porsche 911s; now that they can afford them, they can't get in and out of them, and they like a Cadillac ride! :)

Glad you had a "veg out" day! :)

LOL, Jeff!

Gams, I noticed this afternoon that the models have Debby turning and coming back across FL.

I'm going to have to keep my eyes on this one. It may well affect us here in SC.

Hubbies and their muscle cars! I just hope I can talk him into something sensible (AND more comfortable) when it comes time to replace it.

Yeah, Bug..but he's afraid of me now. He says I caused it. :) We're engineers..he knows I didn't. But it's fun this way.

Gamma - when I saw those first maps, I knew it was trouble. A relatively weak system, barely moving. No real steering currents. Models all over the place.

Debby is still throwing out big bands of activity. I see another blob over Key West, maybe heading this way.

I can't wait to hear what your rain gauge says - PBI had 5" of rain!

Hi everyone,

Ylee, Sandi, Bug, Jeff, Ogal Thanks!!!!
and
Mama Brook!!! Oh my goodness, so glad to see you stop by.
Have not seen you in years and now you have another baby.
So happy for you.. and airman45/Scott stops by here all the time.. I am sure he will see your post. Glad you stopped by!!!

Jeff and Ogal, what happened to Debby's westward track??? now it is moving north and not making the west turn.. now it is becoming a Florida Storm once again. GEEZE...
I have not dumped my gauge today but I can see it is over 1" in there in addition to the 3.6" we had from earlier this week.
Will get an official m easurement tomorrow morning.

Sandi, I was so exhausted when I got home last night and YES I needed my "red" last night!

Bug, These are "young man" sports cars.. what are men our husband's age doing with them today? LOL They are very rough riding and so hard to get in and out of!

Ylee I told hubby what you said bout when he is ready to get the sheet on his vette. He knew about it and will do it someday when he has the time and money and someone to help him.

So hubby and his dad, and son in law, Christian, and his dad all went to the Marlin's baseball game today. to see the new stadium, etc.. a "father/son" day.

So for the first time in months and months and months I was able to just rest...
I laid in bed watching mindless tv.
it felt so good.

Then when hubby got home, since i had such a hard week at work, we went to one of my favorite Habitchie restaurants, Japan Inn for early dinner. It was so good and now so full and tired!

Will check in tomorrow.

Keep an eye on Debby since her track is changing course every update!

Quoting palmettobug53:
He's gonna think I'm Carnac the Magnificient! LOL

Something like a year ago, I was watching WU and some other weather sources while at work. We were under a tornado watch. Not just "a" tornado watch, but one of those that people on the main blog were talking about as "there's GONNA be a tornado out of this one!"

My boss's boss calls for a meeting at 4:30. We finish the topic around 5, and start talking about some other less important issues. I asked if I could leave, because I drive a convertible and would rather be home instead of driving around with the watch going on. He laughed, and let me go.

His house was hit by the tornado that evening. Nothing major - some roof tiles, a fence down, a few trees. And I was off by five or six hours. But he was impressed!

Local update: Hasn't rained for a bit. Radar looks clear. I know Debby is inching north, but I don't think she's moved enough to keep us out of the line of fire. I suspect we're just in a lull.

I know what you mean about feeling like you need a crane to be lifted into and out of that car. Hubby's Mustang is about the same way.

Also, it's the most uncomfortable car I've ever ridden in. The seat is hard as a rock. The back is hard and it won't adjust to give me the right back and neck support. If I'm going to be in it more than 30 minutes, I have to take support pillows and even then, I feel like 150 years old when I get out.

I loathe that car.

Hanging out on WU sure has paid off. There's a young man that sits behind me in my new area of the office. Right before he left Friday, I told him that we'd have Debby named this weekend. He kinda raised his eyebrows at me and said, "Really?" I said, "Yup." He asked, "How do you know?" I replied, "I've been watching these things since I joined WU and, after a while, you get a feel for model runs."

And, 'sho 'nuff, she was official yesterday afternoon.

He's gonna think I'm Carnac the Magnificient! LOL

Ugly day out there..we're under a tornado watch until 8pm.

My sister and I just went to the port to pick up our parents from a cruise. At least they had good weather while they were gone.

I think I'm going to spend the rest of the day working inside the house. I just had new carpet put down in three rooms, and I have to 'rebuild' my office now. Lots of things to move. Might as well do it while I'm stuck in here!

How are you doing??!!!!

Life has been crazy lately. I had another baby! It's a girl. Her name is Natalie.

Anyways...we're living in Texas now. Loving life!

Hope all is well for you! Do you ever hear from Airman?

Gamma, I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Did you know your hubby can get a copy of the original "build sheet" of his Vette? All he has to do is go to the Museum website and supply them with the VIN, and I think for $40 they'll supply him with a copy of the paperwork used when they put it together in 1987!

Hi Gams, who knows where this crazy storm is gonna go. We have had one rain so far this morning but only a little. I guess we all just need to sit back and wait.

Hey what is Luvz doing in Russia? What an awesome work trip. Is his son still in medical school? Enough questions.

Glad this is your last work day.

Good morning It is Saturday and I am at work.

We left home this morning before 6am! So I could take hubby to work by 6:15am.

And I had time to get my team Bagels & cream cheese this morning.

I emptied my rain gauge this morning and dumped 1.2" of rain.
Add that to the 1.4" I dumped Tues morning and the 1" I dumped Monday morning
for 3.6" of rain in the past 7 days.

and still raining and going to rain the next few days until this system, 96L decides what she wants to do.

The models are still split if she will go east into Central Fla, or West into South Texas or North into Louisiana. Or will it even become Debby.
Who knows but we got to watch it for a few days.

I am not sure I will get to be around much today either.... we will see...

You all enjoy your weekend.

Hi Ylee, yes he does, he has a 1987 black vette. He would LOVE to go to the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green.
He knows men who actually ordered their vett custom from that plant.
He had always wanted a vette and got an opportunity in 1987. He has babied that car now for over 25 years. Now it is in sad shape.
He needs to spend about $10,000 on it to get it back in prime condition but we don't have that money right now to spend on the vette.. we are trying to get our 1986 home updated!

That vett only gets used for him to drive to work and back; we use my SUV for all other purposes. We are basically a "one car family".

And he is now getting older and stiffer and having a hard time getting in and out of that Vette, you nearly need a crane to lift you in and out of the darn thing. I hate riding in it; you are right on the ground and feel every bump in the road!

If we can ever aford it we would like for him to get a F150 Ford Truck and keep the vette to restore someday. Oh well, who knows!

Thanks for stopping by.. and YES if I make it thru today I will have survived another "long week" and I tell you this one was rough.
but they all are these days.

Hi, Gamma! Doesn't your hubby own a Vette? On the last day of our vacation, we spent some time at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, then took a tour at the plant where they are put together! I want one now! Oh, well, maybe someday, lol!

One more day to go for you! Yippee!

Hi NEw, Yes we are getting a soaking. I see we are all green again and some places will be turning blue pretty soon.

I agree we are all going to need to keep an eye on 96L "Debby" because no one knows for sure where she will end up going once she gets organized. But we do know Florida is getting plenty of rain from this system.

I will be coming up your way on July 10th until we return July 23rd. I hope your weather behaves properly while I am there!

Thanks for stopping by.

mid to upper 90's the last three days, been really hard to take, but breaking later today with storms, could be a rough evening for us up here.
good luck on your mold garden down there.

BC, good to see you. I have got to get to your blog; hopefully Saturday, to see what my next trip on your end of the country will be!
I too enjoy the tropical foliage as much if not more than the animals. The kids like the animals; I love the gardens.
They inspire me to get busy and get my garden back in shape again.. hopefully after the inside renovation is all finished.
Thanks for stopping by.

Ylee, I know you understand.. you work in the same type of world!!! Yes, I love working in my new kitchen. It is not finished still a few items to be completed but it is finished enough I can use it now.
It is so nice to work in a space with the right equipment and layout!
I am trying to 'hang in there' here at work. today and tomorrow, then off 4 days!
I wish my 401K looked better and I would have retired a few years ago!

Finn!!!! You are welcome. I hope your novel becomes a BEST Seller!
I get a lot of traffic on my FB Wall and a lot of people are seeing the information and there maybe more interest!!!
I hope to start it this weekend; Sunday if I can.

Luvz, what an experience you are living. I think I would be alittle afraid of working in Russia!
That weather is crazy. Hot then cold.
And those wild horses and wolves... I hope are out in the country and not in more urban areas!
Keep us updated when you can!

Sandi, I am glad I made you smile! LOL
I did not take that route again yesterday or this morning.
Not worth it; all the construction and traffic. I go another route that is not as crazy.
This was NOT the week to have to take hubby to work every morning and pick him up so late every night.
But we do what we have to do..

Hope to get around to some blogs tomorrow; if possible.
Work is crazy busy and crazy with all these new policies and processes that are not working.

Everyone, thanks for stopping by!!!!

Hi everyone, hopefully I have a minute.
Been crazy busy and day starts even earlier taking
hubby to work each day.

He works about 10 miles in the opposite direction SE, from out house than I ..
my job is 13 miles each way in the SW direction.

Then when I get off at 7pm I drive all the way east to his shop to pick him up; then back to NW for home.

So when I drop him off I am way way way to the east of where I need to be for work! He will get his new tires MOnday.

That 96L system will probably develope and become Debby.
Now the models are getting their act together and pointing it toward west coast of Florida in the next 4-5 days.

I doubt I will get any part of it except the rains.
Lucky yesterday was a lot of sprinkles but no really hard rain.
I think I have about .7" of rain from Wednesday & thursday after the 1.4" from Tuesday night/Wed morning.
Still 50% chance of rain every day for next 5 days.

We are getting moldy down here so much moisture!

Oh, poor you - I had to smile when you said you went ten miles out of your way!

Years ago, when I was still teaching, my journey took me up and down a major motorway. I had to be in the right lane to get off in Milton Keynes, but on one occasion I was listening to the radio and totally missed my exit and had to travel all the way to the next exit... 16 miles away! The distance between my exit and the next is the longest distance in the whole 200 miles of the road!
I never did it again!!

Crazy weather over here. All last week it's 108F+ with a 117F index. Yesterday and today it's cloudy with rain and 55. Not complaining though. The break in the heat is nice. It's supposed to be back by the end of the weekend. :(

Saw several wild horses and a small pack of wolves today on the way to the office. They seemed to be enjoying the cooler temps and the rare moisture for the season. Not looking forward to next week. I'm sure with all this unusual moisture that once it warms back up the mosquito hatch will be phenomenal!!

Sorry to see work's been nuts, gamma! Been that way here, too; took a vacation day yesterday, and walked into a mess! :P

Saw where you gave the new kitchen a proper workout; how'd it do?

Hang in there!

It took awhile for all those lovely pics to load into your header, but it was worth the wait.

I'm really impress with the Flamingo Gardens and Butterfly World. The part I loved the best about the San Diego Zoo was not the animals, but the plants and flowers and trees. It was like wandering through an amazing arboretum and semi-tropical gardens. Many of the photos you shared from Flamingo Gardens and Butterfly World remind me of that. The birds and butterflies certainly are worth seeing, but the gardens. Oh my!!! Lush. Gorgeous. Exotic. Thanks so much for inviting us along.

Of course, taking hubby to work this morning was not as easy as expected.. and there were traffic problems and got caught between other vehicles and could not change lanes..
ended up going about 10 miles in the wrong direction on the wrong highway... before I could turn around and head in right directions.

What fun.. and I will get to do it every morning this week including Saturday!
Hubby will not have time to get his tire fixed until Monday.

Oh well.. this is my life...nothing is ever easy..
