spence's perch has no current affiliation with the JSHN. The JSHN reports that this is their weather station are false and misleading. The JSHN does not own this station.

Wind gust of 61 mph

2/25/2012 Today the station recorded a gust of 61mph and max sustained winds of 58mph. The weather channel picked up on the report and had seaside park, NJ on the map of with the 61 mph gust as the highest on the eastern seaboard.

Strongest wind gust recorded in New Jersey

71 mph gust was recorded by the weather station Spence's Perch as Irene approached. This to my knowledge was the strongest wind gust recorded for this storm in New Jersey.
