becareful in this heat ...
some forecast is saying 90-100 for next weekend as well...
Comfortable 91ºF here. Humidity is down to 94%..
and if you are working in the direct sun the feel like temp is over 125 degrees ..
Seen any buckled roads?
It is the British Grand Prix on Sunday and this is the headlines today....
"Up to 20,000 ticket holders are being asked to stay away from Saturday's British Grand Prix qualifying sessions at Silverstone.
Heavy rain affected thousands of race fans on Friday and left half of the circuit's car parks unusable.
Officials want to get them back into use for Sunday's race."
Silverstone is about ten miles from me, and my grass is sodden - imagine fields used as car parks. :(
TV was showing fields of corn in S. IL and they were not more then 2 foot high .. a total loss !
One farmer said he hadn't gotten any rain since April 14 ...
Hope there won't be any flooding from all that rain ..
Hopefully we will cool down tonight and only have temps in the mid 80's for Sunday ... as the cool front moves through ..
I see forecast for 100 or better temperatures again in mid July.
I know what you mean about the corn looking so bad. It was like that for us a couple of years ago. Stunted, knee high, brown stuff when it should have been head height or taller and lushly green.
I've been seeing reports on TWC the past few days about the drought and how it's affected the crops in the Midwest. As well as how it's going to affect everyone's grocery bills.
We've got rain in the forecast all this week. WE had rain off and on all this past week. Wish I could send you some. I'm afraid that it will be too late, though, and wouldn't do a whole lot of good. Still, it might salvage something.
We shouldn't have burned like that. Missing ozone or that flare or something.
Dear God! Not the 'maters!
Have you tried dipping them in buttermilk and cornmeal first? You could at least salvage the crop with vine-fried green tomatoes.
(Sorry.... I couldn't resiste.)
Your snailmail arrived today, thanks :) Hope you'll like it...
