The sinking of a whale watching vessel, which resulted in the loss of five British tourists and a missing Australian, has me pondering what could lead up to such a tragedy.

Heard something odd outside so I put on my shoes and went out in the cool (+4C) morning light.
The plastic 45 gal. drum we put kitchen compost in has been tumbled down the slope.
Yesterday I was pushing dirt around with the Tracktorous - setting some shrubs and a new Magnolia in the ground and making a new way around the larger sundeck.
Late in the day I loaded the "front-end" bucket with the ceramic plant holders that need to be wintered in the green...

Had to put the "Hammer Down" to catch the Sched. out of Comox - got there just in time to park the pickup and scurry in through security to sit and watch the fog on the runway and no airplane.
Eventually the small airline put me on a shuttle bus to Campbell River Airport where I wandered around for another couple of hours waiting for reports from Bella Bella Airport to see if we could land there.
Just after 1200 hr they told us we could take off but no gua...
