western Letcher County in southeastern Kentucky...
southeastern Perry County in southeastern Kentucky...
central Harlan County in southeastern Kentucky...
southeastern Leslie County in southeastern Kentucky...

* until 845 PM EDT

* at 542 PM EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to slow
moving thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the
advisory area. Doppler radar estimates that one to two inches has
fallen or should fallen across much of the advisory area before
the storms dissipate.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Cumberland... Evarts... Lynch... Benham... Vicco... Blackey... Smith...
Partridge... Carbon Glow... Gander... shields... Kenvir... Ages...
Blackjoe... Roxana... Defeated Creek... Rhea... Leonard... Redbud and
Ten Spot.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of
swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
