quality alert for Beaverhead... Blaine... Broadwater...
Cascade... Chouteau... Fergus... Gallatin... Glacier... hill...
Jefferson... Judith Basin... Lewis And Clark... Liberty...
Madison... Meagher... Pondera... Teton... and Toole counties...
in effect until further notice.

This update has added Gallatin County back into the alert area.

An air quality alert means that particulates have been trending
upwards and that an exceedence of the 24 hour National ambient air
quality Standard (naaqs) has occurred or may occur in the near
future.

Particulate levels in St. Mary... Browning... Helena... Great
Falls... and Lewistown are unhealthy.

Particulate levels in Bozeman are moderate.

When air quality levels are unhealthy... state and local health
officials recommend that people with respiratory or heart
disease... the elderly... and children should avoid prolonged
exertion; everyone else should limit prolonged exertion.

through Saturday evening for low humidity and gusty shifting winds for

* Wind... southerly winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph
Saturday afternoon... shifting to west at 15 to 20 mph with
