Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 4:28 AM CDT on May 23, 2015

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from 1 PM CDT this
afternoon through Monday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of southeast Kansas... including the following
areas... Allen... Chautauqua... Elk... Greenwood... Labette...
Montgomery... Neosho... Wilson and Woodson.

* From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through Monday morning.

* Showers and storms will increase Saturday afternoon and continue
through Sunday night. Two to four inches of rain are
anticipated. This will likely lead to flooding of low lying and
poor drainage areas. Flash flooding and river flooding are
possible.

* Those with outdoor plans along creeks and streams need to
monitor the weather situation this weekend. Farmers should move
livestock and equipment in areas subject to flooding to higher
ground.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Remember to turn around... don't drown.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
