Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 8:56 AM EDT on August 04, 2015

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northwestern Dixie County in The Big Bend of Florida...
southeastern Taylor County in The Big Bend of Florida...

* until 1000 am EDT

* at 854 am EDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in
the advisory area. One to two inches of rain have already fallen
over areas that continue to have standing water from the past
several days. If the current trends continue the flash flood
potential will increase within the next hour or two.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Steinhatchee... Fish Creek... Howell Place... Bird Island... Jena...
Jonesboro... Blue Springs... Hines and Dekle Beach.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.
