Nowcast | as of 2:53 PM EDT on October 21, 2014

Until 4 PM...a fairly large area of light to moderate rain with embedded isolated thunderstorms will affect the Florida Keys and the adjacent nearshore and surrounding offshore waters of the island chain. Movement of the activity will be toward the north northeast at 10 to 15 knots. Over land...most of the middle and Upper Keys will receive light rain...but another round of moderate to heavy rain should move back into the Lower Keys where an additional one half to possible one inch of rainfall is likely. The stronger cells will be found on the nearshore and offshore waters south of the Lower Keys...as well as the outer waters of Mainland Monroe. Stronger cells will deliver wind gusts of 30 to 35 mph...cut visibility to below 4 miles in moderate to heavy rain and occasional lightning strikes.
