Weather Summary
Weather Underground Forecast for Sunday, May 19, 2013.

A trough of low pressure will maintain active weather for Asia on Sunday. The system will move over the East China Sea and into western Japan, kicking up widespread showers and thunderstorms that will stretch across Japan throughout the day. Tokyo will be overcast with chances of rain increasing in the afternoon and evening with highs in the lower 70s(F)/ lower 20s(C). The back side of this system will create a cold front that will extend westward over eastern and southern China, moving into Taiwan throughout the day. Expect moderate to heavy shower and thunderstorm activity to develop along this front. Hong Kong will be cloudy with showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and highs near 90(F)/ 32(C), while Taipei will see showers and thunderstorms throughout the day with highs also near 90(F)/ 32(C). To the north, another low pressure system moves across far northeastern China, bringing a few scattered rain showers to the region. Beijing will be south of this system with sunny skies and breezy conditions with highs in the mid-80s(F)/ upper 20s(C).

In Australia, high pressure continues to cover the country, maintaining dry and warm conditions as it pushes moisture out to the south. Meanwhile, a few troughs of low pressure passing to the south will kick up scattered coastal showers over the southern shores. Sydney will be sunny with highs in the mid-60s(F)/ upper teens(C).
