* at 331 PM CDT... strong thunderstorms moving through the area are
producing brief periods of torrential rainfall. Doppler radar
estimates one hour rainfall amounts of between one and one quarter
inch. At 3:26 PM, emergency managers in Perry County Illinois
reported street flooding in Du Quoin. Communities in the advisory
area can expect heavy rain and possible street flooding.

Strong thunderstorms at 339 PM were along Interstate 57 near
Benton and Christopher north into southern Jefferson County. The
storms were moving east southeast around 40 mph. These storms will
be capable of winds to 50 mph and hail up to one half inch in
diameter as they move toward northern Williamson... Hamilton and
Saline counties through 430 PM. The environment remains favorable
for severe thunderstorm development. A Tornado Watch is in effect
until 8 PM. Stay tuned for updates.
