Winter Storm Watch
Statement as of 11:45 AM MST on March 02, 2015

... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from 5 PM MST this
afternoon through Tuesday afternoon...

A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from 5 PM MST this
afternoon through Tuesday afternoon.

* Snow accumulations... potential for heavy snow accumulations of
greater than 8 inches... favoring west facing slopes.

* Timing... snow will become more widespread and heavier this
evening and overnight before tapering off Tuesday afternoon.

* Winds... southwest to west winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40
mph over ridgetops and open terrain.

* Snow levels... temperatures will become cold enough for snow at
all locations by late Monday evening.

* Local impacts... difficult travel conditions due to snow packed
and icy roadways are expected at times in the high country
along with reduced visibility in locally heavy snow and
blowing snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Remember... a Winter Storm Watch means conditions are favorable
for a hazardous winter weather event in and close to the watch
area. Monitor the latest forecasts at weather.Gov/abq... listen to
NOAA Weather Radio or your favorite media outlet.
