What a thrill to find some butterfly visitors on the lilacs already!!!!!! I was out trying to do yard work and picking up after the 'Big Blow' when the fragrance of these Heavenly Lilacs cast a spell over me to drop what I was doing, run and grab the camera for a long session of pure enjoyment!!! I told hubby when I finally could hardly hold the heavy camera much longer and came inside for lunch,'I JUST SPENT THE MOST INCREDIBLE TIME IN HEAVEN'!I think he did'nt expect that from me,but it's TRUE!

Hi Friends!!! THANK YOU for stopping by!! I guess the warm weather has hatched our butterfly crop out extra early this year! Usually don't see this kind of action until May/June...I was worried at times hoping that there would be plenty for them to eat as far as flowering goes...it's cooled down some almost 'normal' so there will be time when they are going to hide to keep warm I expect, you don't see them around much when it's cloudy and raining according to my observations..I'm going to have to get in touch with Kathy [Chrysanthemum],the expert!!:)

Great series, Mindi; glad you have some action so early! "If you build [plant] it, they will come!" I don't know where butterflies go when the weather is cold or rainy, but I'm sure they take shelter just as the birds do; many a time I go out on my front porch late at night to check the thermometer and disturb some bird that was roosting in the crape myrtle bush next to the porch, or under the eave of the roof. Maybe they share those perches with the butterflies.

About BEME
BEME Hi KIDDIES!!! O.K.,,there seems to be a bit of confusion about this photo,,,I AM on the left,,a gal!![MINDI],,and the right-hand pic is of BOB my hubby!! I cloned the two images together,,of us taking pics of each other,,so we could give you folks an idea of who we are,,replacing the previous photo of our two favorite eagle family youngsters...We live in Shenandoah,Ia.,,and enjoy [especially me] taking lots of pictures!! I do most of the posting on here,,that's MY thing..and I try to put up Bobs when he takes some good ones...I would also like for you to check out the older ones from time,to time,,I like to share my images,,though not always the greatest,,just to give you an idea what life is sometimes like here in S.W. Iowa.. I came out here from the East Coast and interior New England, where I lived until 1992,,I also lived in Philly for a few years, and Bob is born and raised here in Shenandoah.,,but loves other places that we have visited too. I am happy to have found this site to learn how to take better photos,,meet new people, and make new friends, and be dazzled by what folks share of their 'world'in pictures on here. THANK YOU WuNDERGROUND! I appreciate all your kind words and mail, and critique as much as I enjoy giving back in kind! SHARE THE LOVE!!
