We had a very unusual sunset due to haze / smoke in the air. I was able to shoot directly at the sun without complete washout.

This was very unusual in that we are getting smoke / haze due to wind shift - coming in from the east from Gila NF fire in New Mexico. We had just gotten home from an early supper and I grabbed the camera and headed out to one of my favorite areas. Glad you have enjoyed this as much as I did. Thanks for votes and comments.

Thanks again, everyone. This once again proves my theory that sometimes a good photo shot is like deer hunting - right place at right time! I really had no plans to run out there - it was a spur of the moment thing. Turns out I had about a 5-6 minute window of opportunity.

I have printed this up and double white mat'd it and into a simple black wood frame. I am pleased.

Thanks again.

About Lauren517
Lauren517 I took early retirement (age 55) from a corporate sales / marketing career in 1995. My wife (now of 50 years!), Barbara, and I then built our dream home in Estes Park, CO only to realize we could not live at 8,000 as a base elevation (though we hiked to 14,000). So in the spring of 2003 we sold it and built a house at Quail Creek in Sahuarita, AZ - just south of Tucson; near the Santa Rita Mountains. Due to a hiking fall in 2008, and subsequent re-constructive shoulder surgery, the "no more golf" mandate brought me back to my photography. God works in mysterious ways!
