Thanks Julia, I keep looking at it, but just can't figure out how it happened. the sun seems to be on the wrong side to cast a shadow this direction.

No, no smoke this evening. Just shadow play like I have not seen before. I was out quenching the poor plants from another 100 degree day, and looked up - as I always do. :)

I know, right? Shadow rays, or some such thing. Not sure I have ever seen this, or for sure never photographed it before. It was gone very quickly. Thanks for taking a look, Kathy!

Gotta run back out - I think 'normal' rays are in store. :)

Looks like the clouds are throwing shadows on other clouds, Lori! I suppose there is a name for this phenomenon, but I don't know what that might be. Neat series, in any case!

Update: Congrats on your new blue! Why am I not surprised?
