95% of the Okefenokee Swamp burned last year. It is part of the cycle of this swamp and so crucial to keeping it flushed so that water collects in it and then flows freely out of it into the the Suwannee River in North FL. I wanted to see the results of this burn cycle and during the Spring wild flower time was the perfect time to go.

I love the water, rivers, oceans, muddy marshes - all of it. I especially love being out there in natural world. Obviously lots of you do too. Which is one of the reasons I love this site so much. Thank you all so much for your time and effort to visually share your part of the world with us. And thank you in advance for your honest feedback, which I always learn from, and your kind commentary applause, which always motivates me to get out and shoot more photos.I've decided to "go without photo comments" because WUG email seems more personal and because most of the the really great e-buddies I've developed on WUG were made using e-mail over years.
