I'm suprised that this old abandoned farm house still has a roof after the violent dust storms that have pounded this area recently . I don't know if the license plate came off during the storm but it wouldn't suprise me if it did .

Oh my goodness, Tim! I didn't know you guys were getting hit with dirt storms. Isn't it usually more of a Spring phenomenom? I sure hope you get more moisture to keep the dust settled. AWESOME and descriptive capture! 10 and in my faves!!

Thanks everyone for the comments ! I must also thank my pal frogee . He kindly brought something to my attention . In a moment of total cranial atrophy , I titled this picture " CLAM after the Storm " . Because the farm house in this photo bears no resemblance whatsoever to a " Red Lobster " restaurant or an episode of Spongebob Square Pants , I must take immediate action and change it to the proper title - " CALM After the Storm " . I got involved with photography because of my older brother Steve - a fantastic photographer who lives outside of Seattle , WA . My favorite work , apart from his , is a terrific book entitled " Ghosts in the Wilderness " by Tony and Eva Worobiec . It captures the remains of small , abandoned rural communities across the Midwest , much of it shot in black and white . I also have become a fan of photographer Jim McGuire .
