I've seen those before here in CA. I have a pic buried someplace. They remind me of a dragon's neck. My parents moved into an old Victorian that was built by a Norwegian family and there was a wooden dragon or something called a war horse on the peak of the roof.

These are known as Kelvin-Helmholtz clouds. They are rare, and I think even more so over Alaska. Great capture.
