The broad expanse of desert, sweep of wind n cloud n sky, all combine to form a majestic scene like nothing I've ever seen before. Thank you so much for taking this august photo and for sharing it with us! Julie in Ohio

Fire, wind shear and pyrocumulus....oh my. Greetings from your fire-logged brotheren in Oklahoma. Record heat and drought down here is getting extreme. I want to move back to Michigan and buy RedWings season tickets.

Correction: its San Diego County and Riverside County lines. Where the fire is burning, is where we hunt. Congrats on the AC!

Fire, wind shear and pyrocumulus....oh my.

Great observation, Okeedoky.

Highground, congrats for catching an amazing combination of weather conditions. Too bad a wildfire had to be involved.

About highground
highground Apr 17, '12. Been here on WU since '03 and am still amazed at the bounty that the photo world has to offer. I did a year as an approver, that was sometimes very tough. We had a few misfits that wanted things not in the WU 'guidelines' and would not take NO for an answer. Hopefully those times are long gone. Thank you all for helping my WU experience be Wunderful.
