This sticks up out in the middle of a totally different terrain, all by itself.

Thanks for you note :-)
It's an interesting formation that we used to be able to see all the way down to the base of. But for some reason someone (Highway Dept? DNR? Landowners?) has let all those trees grow up between the highway and the rock formation so all that's visible now is the very tiptop---a shame because it's an intriguing formation, pretty much alone in the area, although there are some odd hills around there, too.

VERY COOL KATHY!! Being a rock lover and terrain like this looks very interesting!! Hope you get a chance to take some more next time..when you have some time!Sounds like our DNR,,either they are cutting every thing down in site,,or letting things grow over!!! I can share your misery! :)

Thanks, Mindi! You can see how far down the base of that formation goes, and it's really neat cuz it's long and narrow, almost like a bumpy "fin" sticking up out of the surrounding landscape. I sure wish they'd cut that stuff around it again so it could still be seen!
Thank you for your note, Bumpuii! :-)

About minnesotamom
minnesotamom Hi! My name is Kathy and I live in northern Minnesota, USA, where the winter temps have dipped down to -60º below zero F. The summers are mild, usually only in the 70ºs but in recent years have been up in the 90ºs---too hot for me. I love being able to travel the world from my office chair, through all your great photos! Thanks to everyone who takes time to look at my pictures! :D free hit countersCreate your own visitor map!
