Glancing the other direction into the Medicine Bow Mountains to the southwest of the Sawmill Fire, smoke streamers rise from Laramie Mountain where the Arapaho Fire has burned the most acres in the state of Wyoming this year. It will take the first snows to snuff them all out.

believe it has now exceeded 98,000 acres.....but mostly contained until first snows fall.....
(that often happens here too, snowfall dousing the fires. But sometimes they overwinter under the snow, in the duff, and flare up in spring!)
When our marsh fires start not even the hardest storms can put them out sometimes because they are burning down deep where the raindrops can't reach! Makes a real mess in New Orleans but the city didn't want to put funds toward putting them out last year. Sure made the people with breathing problems mad!
