Going after the corn on a sunny hot day with black soot like debris spewing all over! There are concerns about aflatoxin spores in the corn crop this year due to the drought.

We saw a fair amount of this type of scenery on our drive from Northern California to Yellowstone National Park. 'Tis the harvest season. Hats off to all of these hardworking people who help bring food to the world's table.

Yup! We've harvested wheat and hay with our draft horses in the past and I was the women's state hand cornhusking campion at one time, but we never put up corn in the shock like in your photo, which is pretty cool by the way. :)

About ruralartist
ruralartist My husband gave me a camera for Christmas a few years back and I am still trying to make the best use of it. After working in black and white as a graphite artist for many years, I have finally found a way to capture what's happening in that massive expanse up there. And the light it casts on things down below.
