What a day. Last day of state math testing. My students finished at 10:45. My school is not to far from where I take my sunset photos. Everyone told me to leave for me to go to the park. It was just about my lunchtime so I drove over to the park and just as I got there, the shuttle was making its land. I made it just in time. OMG. What a sight to behold.

The wind was whipping at around 25mph. Trying to hold onto my camera and stay steady was an interesting endeavor.

Three years ago, one June morning, I was in my garden, heard a loud airplane, looked up and there was the shuttle on top of a 747 at about 2000 feet. I shouted and waved. It was returning to Fl after landing at Edwards and was doing a flyby at the NASA's facilities at White Sands.

It's a totally awesome sight. Thanks for the memories, NASA.
