This poor marsh sandpiper was unwilling to give up its post even as I drove slowly past. My guess is that it had lost its nest to the high tides caused by the super moon, and was unsure just where to head now.

Awwww, I hope you're wrong, Wilma. Nature's little creatures have so much to endure. A nice capture of this little beauty.

Thanks for looking, and liking, Jola, Donna, and Helen. These little birds nest in simple scoops of the shoreline, and with the high tides, I'm afraid they may have been flooded out.
