The crescent moon just setting in the wee hours, can't compete with the aurora flashing through the spring night sky.

Lovely shot Katy, i look forward to the end of August beginning of September when it should be dark enough for you to get decent auroras again where you live. The sun should be almost at it's maximum then!

Beautiful! What's that circular structure to the lower right - reminds me of the antenna on the north west side of Elmendorf AFB (I got to see it up close when I visited my son back in Sept 2010)

David that's a 'cage' of concrete reinforcement mesh, surrounding a choke cherry shrub, to keep moose from helping themselves to it. :)

About katy99780
katy99780 I've lived in Alaska since 1969. I really love this wild land. The extremes of the far north shape and affect every living thing. Extremes of weather, elevation, daylight hours, isolation, flora and fauna, nothing in Nature is insignificant.I have a Davis Vantage Pro weather station, uploading to Wunderground, (Turks on the Tundra) the National Weather Service, the Citizen Weather Observation Program and MADIS (Meteorological Assimilation Data Ingest System).
