Actually, Charlotte, we did take a couple short dips along the way to cool off! Fortunately the creatures kept to themselves. Thanks for your comment.

When I look at the picture, I see what appears to be some prehistoric critter on the lower left side of the photo, but I suppose if it had been, you might not have posted the picture.

Oops! Title should be Old Black Water! Just looked up the lyrics of the Doobie Brothers song. All these years I thought it was Oh Black Water! Hehe. Good song and that's what this river made me think of.

About swampteach

swampteach

Hi, I'm Gayle. I'm a retired teacher and am very much enjoying all of God's blessings - especially our grandchildren and traveling. My husband and I love to travel in our RV, and though I'm definitely an amateur, I enjoy taking pictures of the amazing beauty to be found everywhere we go. I first fell in love with this site when I used the wunderful radars as a weather teaching tool in my classroom. Thanks Wunderground! Since I retired I discovered how much I enjoy seeing the world through the pictures here. I am so inspired by the beauty captured by you talented people. There's much to learn from all of you. Thanks everyone!
