... Strong winds rapidly increasing late tonight across Kodiak
Island...

Strong west winds are expected to develop late tonight over Kodiak
Island as a low develops in the Gulf of Alaska. There remains
some uncertainty as to how strong these winds will become, but
there is good confidence that the strongest winds will develop
late tonight into early Friday morning. At this point the maximum
wind gusts expected from this system will be around 70 mph,
however there is a chance that there may be some warning level
(75 mph) gusts late tonight or Friday morning, including in Kodiak
city. Gusty west winds are then expected to continue into the day
on Friday, however these likely will not be a strong as those
expected overnight.

Residents are urged to secure any loose objects or valuables that
could be blown around by the wind.
