Watches & Warnings

Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 3:22 AM EST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through this evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* north and central Georgia.

* Through this evening

* a strong upper level disturbance and abundant Gulf moisture
will combine to create widespread showers and thunderstorms
overnight and well into Sunday. Rainfall will be heavy at
times and may move repeatedly across the same areas. Two to
four inches of rain has already fallen today. Additional
rainfall amounts of one to three inches will be likely... with
locally higher amounts possible.

* Flooding in low lying and flood prone areas will be likely. In
addition... creeks... streams and rivers may overflow their
banks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
