Winter Storm Watch
Issued: 9:28 PM CST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from Tuesday afternoon
through Wednesday afternoon...

* timing trends... snow will develop Tuesday afternoon and continue
throughout much of Tuesday evening. The exact location of the
heaviest snow band is still in question.

* Storm total snow accumulations... 4 to 7 inches with locally
higher amounts possible. The snow is also expected to be wet and
heavy.

* Winds/visibility... blustery northwest winds of 20 to 30 mph
will develop late Tuesday night and persist through the day
Wednesday. Substantial visibility restrictions due to blowing
and drifting snow are highly likely.

* Impacts... wet snow covered roads will create slick roads. The
wind will create visibility restrictions and the combination of
these elements will lead to hazardous travel conditions. This
system will likely impact both the Tuesday evening and
Wednesday morning commutes across the watch area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow, sleet, or ice accumulations that may impact travel.
