... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 PM MST this
afternoon...

* impacts... heavy snow accumulation above 6500 ft will create
difficult travel conditions, especially across mountain
passes.

* Timing... snow will continue through this afternoon.

* Snow accumulations... additional accumulations of 2 to 5 inches
above 6500 ft.

* Confidence... high confidence.

* Locations... sawtooth/Pioneer/smoky/Boulder Mountains... upper
snake Highlands... Lost River Range above 6500 feet.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow
are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an
emergency. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and
water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
rain and snowmelt in...
southeastern Blaine County in central Idaho...
Lincoln County in south central Idaho...
Minidoka County in south central Idaho...

* until 1145 am MST Monday

* at 1100 am MST, emergency management reported that widespread
flooding was continuing in many areas with water threatening roads
and homes. Several roads remain closed. Additional rainfall
expected over the weekend will result in continuing flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Rupert, Shoshone, Paul, Richfield, Minidoka, Dietrich, Acequia.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff will cause flooding of small creeks and streams,
country roads, farmland, and other low lying spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
