Special Statement
Issued: 2:00 AM MDT Sep. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Snow accumulations expected through Friday in the central
mountains...

An early Fall storm system will impact the central Idaho mountains
today through Friday. A cold front during the day will allow much
cooler air to filter into the area, dropping snow levels to near
valley floors. More significant snow accumulations should remain
above 6000 feet elevation. Snow totals through Thursday morning of
2 to 5 inches are forecast with upwards of 7 inches above 8500
feet. An additional 3 to 5 inches may fall in these areas Thursday
into Friday. Below 8500 feet, expect an additional 1 to 3 inches.

Roadways for the next couple days will be slick at times,
especially at pass level. Please be cautious while traveling.
Campers or outdoor enthusiasts should be prepared for below
normal temperatures and winter weather conditions.
