The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
northeastern Fergus County in central Montana...

* until 1130 am MDT Sunday.

* At 1128 am MDT Thursday, minor flooding is expected to begin by
early Friday evening along the Missouri River near Landusky.
Primary locations impacted include the James Kipp Recreation Area
near Landusky.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.

The Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of central Montana, including the following area,
Fergus.

* Through Friday morning

* showers and slow moving thunderstorms may bring moderate to
heavy rain this afternoon through tonight. This potential for
heavy rain over already saturated grounds may bring more
flooding and some flash flooding.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

... Significant weather advisory for northeastern Judith Basin...
northwestern Fergus and central Chouteau counties until 345 PM MDT...

At 245 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Fort Benton to near Geraldine to 8 miles
southwest of Stanford. Movement was northeast at 20 mph.

Dime size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with
these storms along with very heavy rainfall and occasional lightning.

Locations impacted include...
Fort Benton, Stanford, Geraldine, Denton, Hobson, Windham, Moccasin,
Ackley Lake State Park, Utica, Danvers, Loma, Coffee Creek, Square
Butte, Iliad, Virgelle and Benchland.
