... Flood Watch remains in effect from 8 am EDT this morning
through Tuesday afternoon...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of North Carolina and southwest Virginia, including
the following areas, in North Carolina, Alleghany NC, Ashe,
Surry, Watauga, and Wilkes. In southwest Virginia, Carroll,
Floyd, Grayson, and Patrick.

* From 8 am EDT this morning through Tuesday afternoon

* prolonged heavy rainfall totaling three to four inches with
locally higher amounts possible.

* Flooding of small streams and creeks, small rivers and in poor
drainage areas.
